Desolation Angels, by Jack Kerouac Readers' Reviews:
"There is much too much to say about all of the numerous books that Mr. Kerouac has written - the obvious being the sweet choice of 'On the Road'. But so I do not seem so blatantly, overly obsessed with the ever lasting (and ever imprinted) free thinking, rolling on the scroll road style of prose Mr. Kerouac has influenced me with - I think I will stick to another book, called Desolation Angels. Just the opening chapter involving, Mr. Kerouac writing the sorry, mundane, day by day activities of fire watching - sets the ingenious tone for the rest of the book. Feeling myself touched by the same "desolation" he describes, I realized that any adventures that had been inscribed in the pages were of full-body, texture and real life. The incredible feat of making the reader feel - to want to turn the page - creating the need for me and others to cruise along with him as he traveled his way across the country and alongside the legendary characters of the Duluoz Legend. Those characters so often being the long open road and friends - friends of the Beat Generation."

"I've not quite finished this one yet, half way through, but so far it's hugging my brain and making me very happy!"

A few months later down in London, I bought 'On the Road' in a luxurious, top-sale copy. This was it. He is me! I felt in every sentence that his spirit will live on in every adolescent man who breaks away from society in search for the meaning of live. I haven't finished both books. I'll try to do it myself. The Beat Generation then and now. The story continues...
